Company-wide Quality & Productivity Management for Mexico

Since 1993, ChuSanRen has been implementing 6 months training course in Company-wide Quality & Productivity Management for Mexico.

This training is organized as a part of International Co-operation Programs by Government of Japan based on Mexico-Japan Exchange Program, which was started in 1970 by the friendship agreement between two governments: Mexico and Japan. Various projects have been implemented in both countries for the past 35 years.

(1) Who are the participants?

Managers in industries, instructors and management consultants, staffs to support SMEs, etc. with age between 26 and 40. Every year the course has 8-12 Delegates.

(2) Who are the faculties and instructors?

  1. Industries provide instructors and their workplace for Field Case Studies,
  2. Public institutions provide experts as lecturers for discussion, and
  3. Qualified management consultants from ChuSanRen provide lectures and exercise for better understandings of Japanese experiences, as well as co-ordinating the curriculum of the course.

(3) Training duration in ChuSanRen

From mid-May to mid-October, approx. 110 training days (full day, total 660hrs)

(4) Scope and objective of the course

The course is so designed that the participants will have general knowledge of Japanese management practice and specific skills of quality and productivity improvement to be applied in their professional services, and to contribute to higher the competitiveness of industries in Mexico.

During the program, participants are facilitated to share Japanese experience focusing on manufacturing industries, as well as to promote friendship in between Japan and Mexico.

At the end of the program, participants complete "Report of Individual Study with Action Plan." The report contains his/her experiences staying in Japan, which will be applied/adapted in future assignment after coming back to own organization.

(5) Curriculum structure

The core of the training curriculum is "600. Company-wide Project Activities for Improvement. " Relevant subjects are organized to lead participants to complete "Individual Study Report" through co-ordination by instructors.

(6) Methods of study

"Field Case Studies" and "Classroom sessions for Lectures & Exercise" are integrated for effective studies of participants.

Q1. How was the training?

The training was useful, interesting and challenging. The combination of in-class training/lecturing with simulation games and company visits allow to understand the philosophy, tools and techniques of the Japanese industrial management.


Q2. How was your life in Japan? What was the most impressive memory?

The order, safety and statistics are reflected in all over Japan and his Culture.
For example, the accuracy of the railway system and also is easy to use, even for a foreigner. The environment activities in the social groups and factories are impressive.


Q3. What is your plan when you go back to your country?

F

Make as many improvements that I can to develop my staff, with the best practices of the Japanese companies.
For example the 5S activities are fundamental for any field, from office to factories.
Also the training and the QC Circles are important to improve and do on job training.
And the grand finale is to apply the 3R's (reuse reduce and recycle).
